Acosta joins Ripken Foundation

Randy Acosta has joined the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation as senior director of development. Acosta will collaborate with executive leadership to direct the coordination and implementation of resource development programs on behalf of the Ripken Foundation’s goals and objectives to maximize potential and increase support.

Previously, Acosta served as executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of Harford County. During his tenure, Acosta successfully established corporate, government and community partnerships to enhance the opportunities available for local youth and community within the Harford County region. In his new role with the Ripken Foundation, Acosta will be responsible for coordinating and executing annual special events and raising funds to support and expand Foundation programming. Additionally, he will assist with overall marketing and branding of the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation.

As a former Boys & Girls Club member, Acosta has more than 12 years of experience within the Boys & Girls Club organization. He began his career with the Boys & Girl Club at the same center he attended as a teen, starting as an athletic director and rapidly progressing to branch director. From there, Acosta spent time at each of the Clubs in Prince William County, Va., where he become the youngest professional to serve as the area executive director for the Prince William Region of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, D.C.
